I am a Masters by Research student at the University of Bristol, where I am studying the impacts of liana cutting on carbon storage and biodiversity in tropical forests in Malaysian Borneo. My project combines repeat LiDAR surveys to assess above-ground carbon storage with bioacoustic monitoring of bird communities to investigate biodiversity responses. The fieldwork is supported by the Liv Sidse Jansen Memorial Foundation.
Before joining Selva Lab, I completed a BSc in Biological Sciences at Imperial College London. During my degree, I undertook a summer placement testing bioacoustic devices and collecting acoustic data, which sparked my interest in remote sensing. I am particularly interested in the application of these methods to habitat restoration.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time bouldering, but I’m keen on pretty much any sport. I also love hiking and multi-day treks, the steeper and more remote the better. When I’m not outdoors, I enjoy a good board game.
